About Doula C.A.R.E.
Doula C.A.R.E. is a Canadian, non-profit association guided by a Board
of Directors comprised of member volunteers. We are guided by our By-Laws.
All Doula C.A.R.E. members abide by Doula C.A.R.E.'s Code of Ethics, Standard of
Practice and Statement of Goals.
Doula C.A.R.E. also employs a Grievance Policy to ensure accountability of all members in upholding Doula C.A.R.E.'s

Currently, Doula C.A.R.E. operates only in Ontario. For birth support in

Our Mission
- Ensuring, to our best ability, that all
women are provided access to a doula, regardless of her ability to
pay for the service.
- Ensuring, to our best ability, that
emotional needs of women are met during primary care.
- Ensuring, to our best ability, that
childbearing women and their families have access to the resources
they need to make informed decisions about their care and
experience.
- Providing access to trained doulas, who
abide by a Code of Ethics and Standard of Practice.
- Providing doulas with access to resources
for doula training, continued professional development
opportunities, as well as a network within the childbirth community.
- Educating the public, health care community
and third party insurers as to the benefits of doula presence for
childbearing women and their families.
